She/Her/Hers

Hello! I’m so glad you’re here and taking steps toward your goals.

My name is Tia Kraus. I’m a licensed clinical social worker providing in-person therapy in Fairbanks, Alaska, and telehealth across the state. I specialize in working with teens and adults navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, and identity development, including LGBTQ+ and transgender experiences.

I’m Indigenous from Nenana, Alaska, and live on the traditional lands of the Tanana Dene. Cultural connection, laughter, and joy are at the heart of my work. I believe healing is a collaborative process that honors your strengths and individuality. My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and flexible — blending tools like CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and strength-based therapy to meet you where you are.

Before joining GE Family Services, I spent over a decade working with youth and families in school settings. I love helping people reconnect with themselves, feel empowered, and move through life with more clarity and confidence.

Outside of the therapy space, I enjoy traveling, concerts, kayaking, and backpacking through Alaska’s beautiful landscapes.

If you'd like to connect, you can email me at tia.kraus@gefs-team.org for a free consultation. I look forward to meeting you.
