Social Work Intern
Khalina Chambers, MSW intern at GE Family Services in Anchorage, sees clients in-person and via telehealth. She works with children, adults, and teens on depression, trauma, grief, and anxiety through a faith-based, person-centered lens using CBT, DBT, Brainspotting, and TBRI.
Hi beautiful people! I’m Khalina—your friendly, snow-loving, tea-sipping intern clinical social worker at GE Family Services, a division of Partners Behavioral Health Corporation. I’m currently earning my Master of Social Work at Grand Canyon University, having just wrapped up my Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Born and raised in Alaska, I’m deeply rooted in this community, and I consider it an honor to serve the people of this great state—whether that’s in-person from our Anchorage office or through telehealth across the Last Frontier.

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults navigating life’s harder seasons—whether it’s depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, or the general weight of being human in a complex world. If you’re looking for someone who blends science, soul, and a solid dose of faith—you’ve come to the right person.

As a Christian, my therapeutic approach is deeply grounded in biblical truth and a strong belief in the power of relationship and connection. I believe healing begins when we feel seen, safe, and spiritually grounded. I’m trained in Brainspotting Phase 1 and “Digging for the Roots,” Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) through the Karen Purvis Institute of Child Development. I bring these tools into the therapy room to help you move through pain, break old cycles, and plant new seeds of hope.

My sessions are strengths-based and person-centered, meaning we focus on you—your voice, your values, your vision. I pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT, using an attachment-based lens to help you reframe harmful narratives and build healthier internal truths. Whether we’re tackling childhood wounds, spiritual disconnection, or learning to speak kindly to ourselves for the first time—I’ll be there with empathy, laughter, and maybe even a cozy metaphor or two (I am a knitter after all).

Outside of sessions, you’ll find me hiking in the snow, deep in a crochet project, baking something I probably won’t share, or curled up with a puzzle and a hot cup of tea. I embrace what I call “old lady hobbies” because they remind me to slow down, savor life, and practice what I preach—intentional living, deep rest, and the joy of small things.

Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff or sterile. It can feel warm, real, and even fun. My goal is to walk beside you as you move toward stronger relationships—with God, with yourself, and with others. Healing is hard—but it’s also holy. Let’s start planting something new together.

Blessings and deep breaths,
Khalina 🌿
