Leah Tutt joins GE Family Services, a division of Partners Behavioral Health Corporation, as a Master of Social Work intern and the Lead Case Manager committed to supporting military personnel and their families through the complex realities of trauma, mental health challenges, and transitional life phases. Currently completing her MSW through Capella University (expected June 2026), Leah also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a Corrections emphasis from Bemidji State University and a Psychology minor. She is pursuing certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor II (CDCI/CDCII), deepening her expertise in co-occurring treatment and substance use recovery.

Leah brings nearly 15 years of diverse professional experience in the behavioral health field. Her background spans case management, in-home therapy, inpatient treatment for teens, school-based support from elementary through adult learners, and collaborative partnerships across education, probation, housing, and veteran services. Her practice reflects a strong commitment to trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and advocacy for underserved populations, particularly those navigating the unique demands of military life.

As an active-duty military spouse, Leah understands firsthand the stressors of relocation, separation, and reintegration faced by service members and their families. She integrates this lived experience into her therapeutic work, focusing on building resilience, fostering healthy relationships, and reducing stigma around mental health. She regularly volunteers in military-based programs alongside her husband and is dedicated to ensuring that service members and their families know where to turn for support, connection, and healing.

Leah uses a strengths-based, solution-focused approach incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness-based interventions. She is also passionate about working with couples and family systems to promote healthier communication and emotional awareness. Her clients appreciate her grounded, empathetic presence and her skill in balancing warmth with clinical precision.

Leah offers services via telehealth across Alaska and also sees clients in-person in Anchorage. Her areas of focus include trauma and PTSD, anxiety and depression, substance use and recovery, family systems, military and veteran mental health, and moral injury.

Outside of work, Leah is a proud Minnesotan who enjoys hockey (Go Wild!), football (Skol Vikings!), hunting, fishing, and attending community festivals. She loves DIY projects, traveling with friends and family, and riding motorcycles with her husband. No matter where her military journey takes her next, Leah is committed to remaining licensed in Alaska and continuing her clinical service to the military community.
