Justin's Christian Counseling
Justin Knowles, LCSW, is a Christian therapist in Fairbanks, Alaska, providing in-person and telehealth therapy for individuals, couples, and families. He offers faith-based counseling with humor, creativity, and missionary support to military families.
Hello and welcome! I’m Justin—though many know me affectionately as "Patchy." I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a devoted Christian who believes that healing isn’t just possible—it’s part of the journey we’re called to take. My approach to counseling blends clinical expertise with biblical truths, humor, and heartfelt connection. I see therapy not just as a clinical process, but as a sacred space to walk alongside others in their struggles, their breakthroughs, and their transformation.

I work with individuals, couples, and families who want to grow in faith and emotional wellness. Whether you're facing relationship challenges, parenting conflicts, trauma, anxiety, or feeling stuck in your spiritual walk, I create a space where both healing and laughter are welcome. I take an out-of-the-box approach to therapy, often using creative strategies, storytelling, and sometimes a little comic relief—because I believe that, like Patch Adams, joy can be an essential part of the healing process.

My clinical work is deeply rooted in my faith in Jesus Christ. I believe that understanding our worth, identity, and calling begins with knowing who we are in Him. Therapy with me often involves exploring not just the pain of the past, but the redemption and purpose that God wants to bring from it. My clients often say that they feel truly seen, accepted, and spiritually uplifted after our sessions.

In addition to my work at GE Family Services, a division of Partners Behavioral Health Corporation, I’m actively involved in missionary outreach to the military bases in the Fairbanks area. I provide pastoral counseling, encouragement, and biblical mentorship to military personnel and their families. This work is close to my heart, as I’ve witnessed firsthand the emotional and spiritual toll of military life. My goal is to help these families reconnect with faith, community, and each other—offering the hope and healing of Christ even in the midst of high-pressure environments.

Whether you're seeking a counselor who shares your Christian values, someone who will walk with you through life's hard seasons, or just need someone to remind you that your story isn’t over—I'm here for that. Together, let’s pursue the joy, peace, and purpose that God promises.

You were created in the image of God. Let's rediscover what that truly means—through grace, laughter, and honest work in therapy.
