Social Work Intern

Samantha Joins GE Family Services as a Master level Social Work intern to work with teens and adults dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, and family issues.

Samantha Sundborg is a pre-licensed clinician who offers therapy exclusively through telehealth, with clinical assignment to GE Family Services' Fairbanks location. She works with adolescents and adults facing a range of challenges, including complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and family conflict. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and respect for the client’s lived experience. Samantha strives to create an emotionally safe space where clients can explore their stories, build on their strengths, and move toward greater emotional resilience and self-awareness.

Samantha earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Kentucky and her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She brings a broad background of supportive roles to her clinical work, including experience working with veterans, coaching CrossFit, and managing healthcare and real estate offices. This blend of clinical training and practical experience gives Samantha a grounded, accessible, and deeply human approach to therapy.

Clients who work with Samantha appreciate her down-to-earth demeanor, her ability to meet them where they are, and her commitment to walking alongside them during times of transition, crisis, and growth.

When not working, Samantha enjoys flipping furniture, tackling DIY projects, baking, playing tennis, and spending time outdoors with her spirited Belgian Malinois.
