Social Work Intern
Jamison Schroyer, MSW intern at GE Family Services in Anchorage, sees clients in-person and via telehealth. She works with children, teens, and adults on depression, trauma, and anxiety using CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused brief therapy.
My name is Jamison (she|her) and I’m a Social Work Intern at GE Family Services, a division of Partners Behavioral Health Corporation. I’m studying at the University of Alaska Anchorage and will graduate in May 2026 with a master’s degree in social work. I began my journey in social work one afternoon in a pottery studio when I realized the therapeutic connection between art and accessing the emotional self. Ever since then I have worked hard to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a therapist.
My professional background includes working for a tribal owned residential treatment center for substance use disorders and for a local non-profit LGBTQIA+ medical clinic. I have a CDC I certification and my approach to therapy is client-centered and trauma-informed. Theories I tend to utilize include CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused brief therapy. I enjoy working with individuals and groups. Most of my experience is in working with adults and adolescents. I am thrilled to be an intern here at GE Family Services for the rich opportunity to work with people of all ages and walks of life.
I was born and raised in Anchorage and have lived here my whole life, except for the one year I lived in Whittier, AK. I identify as queer, I love animals, and I’m a self-proclaimed dog person who happened to adopt a cat. I grew up hiking, camping, fishing, and foraging in the gorgeous Alaskan wilderness. These days I love to throw pottery, paddleboard, travel, and care for my 100+ houseplants.
