Clinician
Alicia Sundborg, MSW, sees clients in-person in Fairbanks and via telehealth across Alaska. She supports adolescents, teens, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief using CBT, mindfulness, and culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care.
Hello, my name is Alicia Sundborg, and I’m honored to work with adolescents, teens, and adults in the Fairbanks area and throughout Alaska via telehealth. I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where I graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the Phi Alpha Honor Society. I’m currently working toward licensure under the supervision of Justin Knowles, LCSW.

My passion lies in supporting others through life’s challenges—whether it’s anxiety, grief, betrayal, depression, or trauma. I believe in meeting each client where they are, honoring their story, and walking alongside them with compassion. My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and empowerment. I incorporate evidence-based methods like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, motivational interviewing, solution-focused techniques, and restorative justice principles.

Healing takes courage, and I strive to create a non-judgmental space where people feel seen, heard, and supported. I’ve learned that personal healing can be a powerful guide for helping others, and my own journey has deeply shaped how I show up in this work. I’m committed to breaking the cycles of historical and intergenerational trauma by fostering safety, resilience, and growth in those I serve.

Outside of therapy, I love to travel, make good food, go for long walks, and spend time with friends, family, and especially my two daughters—they’re the heart of my world.
