Hi there! I’m Amanda, a Master of Social Work Clinical Intern at GE Family Services, a division of Partners Behavioral Health Corporation. I will be working out of the Anchorage office providing both in-person and telehealth services. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Western Michigan University in 2019 and have spent the past several years working in nonprofit spaces focused on education, youth development, trauma, behavioral health, and substance use. I am dedicated to walking alongside individuals and families as they navigate life’s challenges.
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, and marginalized groups with a clinical focus on trauma, depression, anxiety, and social difficulties. My therapeutic approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed, rooted in motivational interviewing and active listening. I am passionate about supporting my clients as they navigate difficult emotional and social experiences. Furthermore, I am committed to helping families build stronger connections, foster open communication, and rediscover joy in everyday moments. I believe deeply in the importance of partnership in the healing process, meeting the client where they are at, and recognizing that you are the expert of your own life.
As a certified peer support specialist, I understand the power of having someone walk beside you. As both a parent and an active-duty military spouse, I know firsthand how essential it is to have community, connection, and resilience. I use my lived experiences to promote a collaborative and empowering environment. I trust that healing begins when we feel safe, heard, and respected, and I’m here to offer tools, support, and encouragement as you take steps toward growth.
Outside of work, you’ll find me spending time with my family, exploring Alaska’s great outdoors, hiking, fishing, and kayaking, or diving into creative outlets like crochet, painting, and playing music. I’m a big fan of concerts, outdoor markets, and cooking (and eating!) delicious food. These passions help keep me grounded and evoke a sense of what makes life meaningful.
I am so happy you are here. Healing is hard work, but you don’t have to do it alone. Let’s find the light together.
