Intern
Eliza joins GE Family Services, a subsidiary of Partners Behavioral Health Corporation, as an LPC intern. Eliza is excited to work with military personnel, veterans, and diverse and marginalized communities.
Eliza Magana joins GE Family Services as a Clinical Mental Health Counseling practicum intern. She looks forward to working with diverse and marginalized populations, with a particular interest in supporting military personnel, veterans, and their families. Eliza is developing specializations in military families and addiction counseling and is passionate about creating a welcoming environment where clients from all backgrounds feel heard, respected, and supported.
Before entering the counseling profession, Eliza served more than 20 years on active duty in the U.S. Army as a logistician. Her military experience has given her a unique understanding of military culture and many of the transitions, challenges, and strengths service members and their families experience. As she develops her counseling practice, Eliza hopes to combine her lived
experience with evidence-based counseling approaches, cultural humility, and a commitment to meeting each client where they are.
Eliza's professional background also reflects her passion for education and helping others. She currently works as a substitute teacher with the Anchorage School District, is a real estate professional, and works seasonally as a tax preparer. Across these roles, she enjoys helping individuals and families gain knowledge, navigate unfamiliar situations, and feel more confident making decisions that affect their lives.
Eliza looks forward to supporting clients both through telehealth and in person. Her developing counseling interests include military and veteran populations, military families, addiction counseling, children and adolescents, and individuals from diverse and historically marginalized communities.
Outside of counseling, Eliza enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, walking, fishing, and learning new things. She also enjoys helping people find their "home sweet home" through real estate and spending time with her cat, Cosmo, and dog, Milo.
