Kelsey joins GE Family Services as a Clinical Intern to work with adolescents, adults, and families with managing relationships, anxiety, depression, women's issues, and LGBTQIA+ issues.

Hey y’all! My name is Kelsey, and I have joined GE Family Services as an intern for my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree at Grand Canyon University. I am in my final year of my program, and I am passionate about helping people. I work with adolescents, adults, and families who may be struggling with transitions, overcoming trauma and abuse, or just generally feeling stuck. My particular topics of focus are managing relationships; reducing anxiety, stress, and depression; women’s and LGBTQIA+ issues; healing from sexual, domestic, and narcissistic abuse; and living with chronic mental illness like borderline personality disorder.

I am originally from Nashville, Tennessee, but after a stint in Las Vegas, I have settled here in Anchorage, Alaska. I have lived here since 2019 with my boyfriend and two dogs. I have a B.S. in mass communications from Middle Tennessee State University (2013) and have been working directly with people ever since. I love cooking, biking, skiing, practicing yoga, and playing in the mountains with my dogs. I am also a cold-water free diver and enjoy diving in Alaska’s icy oceans and lakes.

I am committed to helping people better understand and accept themselves and utilize their unique strengths and weaknesses to grow. I know how it feels to be ready to change but don’t quite know how. I look forward to helping people heal, grow, and put some new tools in their toolbox.
