Clinician
Corissa (she/her/hers) joins GE Family Services as a clinician specializing in trauma, depression, and anxiety. She loves working with individuals who are facing unique circumstances, come from diverse backgrounds, or who have special needs.

Hi, I’m Corissa. I believe life can be a gift, but it’s rarely easy. We often forget how powerful we are, and at times we don’t realize just how much truth and wisdom we are suppressing. I’d love to hold space for you as you discover yourself.

I am a master’s-level social worker with a degree from Ohio State University. I grew up in Austin, Texas but have also lived in Seattle and now Alaska where I’ve been for the past 4 years. When I’m not with clients, I’m spending time with my daughter, listening to podcasts, traveling, cooking, listening to reggae, and going for walks or hikes in this beautiful place we get to call home.

My approach is person-centered, and I use elements of various therapies to best suit the individual client including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems (“parts work”), Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, and Motivational Interviewing. Along with these approaches, I weave in values of compassion, curiosity, truth, freedom, and humor. I listen to my intuition closely when working with clients, and gently encourage clients to listen to their own.
